A dynamic review electronic Earth Science journal publishing material from all continents
General Contributions submitted to the journal for publication in 2010.
The Editors invite contributions that do not pertain to special issues. In particular, we seek papers that use the benefits of electronic medium in conveying geoscience concepts via visualizations, simulations and animations. For author instructions and reviewing policies, see http://www.virtualexplorer.com.au/pages/publish/.
Italy is home to a great variety of geological environments.
In this 10th Anniversary Volume of the Journal of the Virtual Explorer we celebrate this diversity, by providing an up-to-date account of the geological evolution of Italy through time, with review papers from the fields of tectonics, petrology, volcanology, structural geology, geochronology, stratigraphy, sedimentology and palaeontology.
This field guide describes outcrops that are critical for the evolution of new concepts on extreme crustal thinning, mantle exhumation, continental breakup and initial seafloor spreading.
2010 marks the tenth anniversary of the Means Volume, the first online publication of a significant microstructural work that took full advantage of the electronic medium.
This volume, also marking the tenth anniversary of the journal, will comprise a collection of papers that similarly teach and inspire, and lead the reader to the cutting edge of microstructural research.
